Michael Strassner, D.V.M.
Michael Michael is a 1998 Cum Laude graduate of UMass Amherst with Bachelors in Biochemistry and Molecular/Cellular Biology. He received his doctorate degree in 2003. After practiced in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania for 2 years he and his wife (Susan Galanthay) then moved to Massachusetts in 2005. Michael & Susan purchased Mass Equine in 2011. Although he enjoys all aspects of Equine medicine, in particular he enjoys lameness and the associated diagnostics and treatment. He is a member of the AVMA, and the International Society of Equine Locomotor Pathology (ISELP). He is currently working toward full certification by ISELP. When not working Michael enjoys camping, and hiking with his wife and 2 daughters and also enjoys woodworking.
Susan Galanthay Strassner, D.V.M.

Dr Susan Galanthay, co-owner of Mass Equine, has been practicing equine veterinary medicine for the past ten years An avid, Hunter Jumper rider from childhood up through college, Susan has always had a strong desire to work with horses. Her particular interests include sports medicine, reproduction and general health including dentistry.
She enjoys spending her free time with her husband and two young girls.

Sarah D’Oench, V.M.D.
Michael Sarah graduated in 2002 from the University Of Pennsylvania School Of Veterinary Medicine. She subsequently completed a joint one year internship with Tufts Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine and the Massachusetts Equine Clinic which provided advanced training in equine internal medicine. In 2003 she joined the Massachusetts Equine Clinic as a full time associate. Her professional interests include internal medicine and neonatology. Sarah is a member of the American and Massachusetts Veterinary Medical Associations and the American Association of Equine Practitioners. When not at work Sarah enjoys spending time with her husband and son.
Geraldine Lee (Gez)
Gez has been with Mass Equine since December 2008. Originally from England she completed the British Horse Society, which provided training and examinations in Stable Management, Horse Care and Knowledge, Riding and Teaching. After gaining valuable experience in America she decided to stay, and continue gaining experience in the equine fields. Previous work experiences include 3-Day Event Groom, Barn Manager at Hunter/Jumper barn in NC. Managing at a British Horse Society affiliated equestrian center in FL, and then moving to beautiful New England where she managed a Hunter/Jumper barn for 5 ½ years.
Samantha Mencarini
Sam has been riding and working with horses since she was seven years old. Ever since she was a young girl, she knew horses were her passion, so she decided to attend Bristol County Agricultural High School and was a large animal major. After high school, Sam continued her education at Johnson & Wales University in Providence RI. She recently graduated from JWU with her bachelor’s degree in Equine Science. Sam has a horse of her own named Amber whom she has owned for over 12 years. Sam has been working at Mass Equine since March 2013.
Patti Furno
Michael Patti is our office manager; she has been employed by Mass Equine since 1992. She has 3 grown children and has 5 grandchildren. Patti and her husband have a small hobby farm that includes cows, chickens and ducks. Patti works part time as an EMT for the Douglas Fire Dept. In her spare time, she enjoys camping, knitting and gardening. She also has 5 cats.
Tina Saucier
Michael Tina started working at Mass Equine in 2000, as our Practice manager.
She has lived in Uxbridge, MA for the past three years and was a resident of Douglas for many years prior. Tina has a passion for gardening, GeoCacheing, Biking. She enjoys spending time and hiking with her Papillion “Miss Boo”. Tina is the proud mom of one son. Tina was the owner of a catering company and was a Chef for many years at local restaurants prior to Mass Equine and enjoys entertaining at her house while always supplying a grand feast for her guests.
