Externship Program
Our Externship Program provides veterinary students with a hands-on learning experience in a busy, full-service equine practice. Our program offers valuable exposure to real-world cases and helps students build practical skills that complement their veterinary education.
Working closely with our team, externs are involved in sports medicine, lameness evaluation, emergency care, dentistry, and preventative medicine. You’ll gain direct clinical experience, develop your understanding of case management and client communication, and see firsthand the daily operations of an ambulatory equine practice. This immersive experience is designed to prepare you for the next steps in your veterinary training and beyond.
Program Details
Duration: One- or two-week rotations available year-round
Eligibility: Open to students currently enrolled in a college of veterinary medicine

What You’ll Experience
Hands-on, immersive training in a fully equine practice.
Exposure to a wide variety of cases across disciplines, including dressage, eventing, show, and pleasure horses.
Opportunities to assist with diagnostics such as digital radiography, gastroscopy, ultrasonography, and more.
Guidance and mentorship from experienced equine veterinarians.
A supportive, learning-focused environment designed to prepare you for internships or future clinical practice.
